Finished Basement and Wine Cellar

Originally hired by an interior designer to build a bar and entertainment unit in a basement renovation, JMF submitted a bid for – and won – the job as the project’s general contractor. What gave us the edge? Full-service capability. We not only had the experience to gut, reframe and add sheetrock and electrical, but we also could design and build the cabinetry – a big plus for the homeowner.

The entertainment unit was a challenge. The family's large television didn’t fit the designer’s drawing, so we adapted the design to fit the room and the television. The room’s real showpiece, however, wasn’t even part of the original plan.

When we saw a large alcove under the stairs that held a pile of wine bottles, we suggested that they turn the space into an actual wine cellar. Built-in wine shelves, a wrought-iron arched gate and stained glass windows played off the theme in the rest of the room to spectacular results.  View wine cellar photo gallery and read a testimonial.
